First International Doctoral Student Conference on Archaeology (IDSCA), Zagreb 15-17 April 2015

About the Conference

Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, has recently established a conference series for junior researchers working on PhD thesis in archaeology.

The conference aims to offer to doctoral candidates an opportunity to present and discuss their current individual research. The conference intends to promote an exchange of ideas belonging to various archaeological disciplines (Prehistoric, Classical, Roman Provincial, Early Christian, Medieval and Postmedieval), as well as of those belonging to the realm of archaeological sciences. Mentoring provided by a carefully selected professors of our Department ensures the best quality supervision for the attending doctoral students.

The aim of this conference is to build new bridges between young archaeologists and to encourage them to present their work, exchange ideas and meet colleagues working in the related fields.

All presented papers will be published electronically as Conference proceedings.

 Call for papers

 Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb invites you to its International Doctoral Student Conference on Archaeology (IDSCA).

The conference will be held on 15-17 April 2015 at the conference hall of the Library of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, Ivana Lučića 3.

Interested participants should send an abstract in English (as a PDF or a Word document) of no more than 300 words to the conference e-mail address: idsca@ffzg.hr

The name and the postal address of the author(s) should be included. The deadline for the abstract submission is: 15th November 2014.

Papers should be presented in English. The length of each presentation is limited to 15 minutes. Presentations will be followed by discussion.

There is no registration fee. Travel, accommodation and all other costs (admissions to the museums, transfer by public transport, etc.) are to be covered by the participants themselves.
